Following the a serious bird flu outbreak in lower Assam in northeast India, the local authorities of Kamrup where the virus was first discovered in last week of November has restricted sale and movement of poultry feed within a three-kilometre radius.
The areas where sale and movement of poultry feed are allowed include the Sarpra village of the Palasbari circle, Patgaon village of the Azara circle and the Rajabazar village of the Hajo circle.
Prior to the restriction, sale and movement of the poultry feeds were confined to the 10-km radius of the infected area. All other restrictions imposed on the sale and movement of poultry feed other than these areas have been withdrawn.
