(2011-4-1) With increasing importance of energy reservation, there has been a rapid development in Chinese biomass energy market in the past few years. And evidence is mounting that biomass energy industry in China will enjoy a promising prospect in the long run including the four biomass energy products, namely, liquid biofuel, biopower generation, solid biofuel and biomass gas.

CCM has released the report on Biomass energy products- Biomass Gas Market in 2010. The report presented the general situation of biomass gas market and development in China from its feedstock supply, achievements in the past years and limitations of China's biomass gas market. Through the analysis, the report makes a forecast on China's biomass gas market in 2010~2015.

China has been in shortages of fossil oil for long. In recent years, China has vigorously promoted the development of biomass energy industry with preferential policies and thus many projects have been launched. For example, in 2010, the construction for the Gaizhou Biomass Gas Supply Project was launched by NF Energy and Gaizhou Gas. It was said that this project was to represent an important milestone in China's campaign to become more energy efficient and promote emission reductions. As a large agricultural country, China is rich in biomass raw materials, including agricultural garbage and animal waste, with an estimated 5 billion tonnes nationwide.

Biomass Gas, combining the environment protection and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, is the top topic of new energy. Different from wind and solar energy, biomass gas is still in its initial stage. Though there are policies and projects on it, there are still limitations and bottlenecks which are subjects to further improvement to produce 100 percent clean gas. That is why the development of biomass gas lags behind solar and wind energy with greater amount.

The report probes deeply into this industry by exposing its limitation and weakness with the aim to inform people intend to know and attract more attention for better development. As the industrialization is still in the initial stage, there are not sufficient support on the equipment and technology. The most outstanding point is that there are not much profit and the industry feels pressure to attract more investments. So the industry calls for commercialization.
