According to statistics from China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA), the China Agrichemical Price Index (CAPI) of June was 99.51, a drop of 1.02% compared to last month, and a drop of 2.49% compared to last June. It is basically flat with the lowest CAPI of this January. It is expected that the domestic pesticide market in July will maintain the current trend with slightly fluctuated price index.

The CAPI of herbicides of June was 99.46, which dropped by 1.50% compared to last month and 2.44% compared to last June This is the first time that the herbicide CAPI has dropped below 100.00. Compared with the sharp drop during the previous two months, the drop range of the herbicide CAPI of this month has slowed down, starting to level off or pick up on the whole. In this June, the output of glyphosate TC reached 37,000 tons, a sharp drop by 28.48% compared to last month and 23.17% compared to last June, which resulted from slack market consumption and a tight demand for glycine; however, the tension in supply of glyphosate hasn't given an end to the continuous price drop; the weighted transaction price of glyphosate was 28,900 yuan/ton, which hit this year's record low, a drop of 2.36% compared to last month and 13.21% compared to last June, falling to this year's record low. The price of paraquat continued to fall in June. The weighted transaction price of paraquat TC on basis of 100% was 84,500 yuan/ton, a slight decrease compared to last month and a drop of 10.11% compared to the highest price of the first half of this year. Generally speaking, among various herbicides, the price of trifluralin went through relatively bigger fluctuations in June. The price of trifluralin increased by 8.33%, which remained flat with the average price of trifluralin of the first half of this year; prices of other herbicides didn't see many fluctuations this month.

The CAPI of insecticides of this June was 97.63, a slight decrease of 0.89% compared to last month and a drop of 1.73% compared to last June. The transaction price of imidacloprid in the second quarter of this year continued to rise, reaching 131,400 yuan/ton, an increase of 6.92% compared to last month and the output of imidacloprid increased by 9.00% compared to last June. The transaction prices of both chlorpyrifos TC and acephate TC have fallen, a drop of 7.20% and 13.16% respectively, which brought a fall of 1.53% to the price index of the insecticides. The market of most other insecticides maintained relatively stable, without big price fluctuations.

The CAPI of fungicides of June was 101.31, hitting a record high of the first half of the year with an increase of 0.92% compared to last month, a drop of 4.10% compared to last June and an increase of 2.68% compared to the lowest price index of March. Among these three categories of agrochemical products, the fungicides account for the smallest market share. Fungicide manufacturers are relatively stable and the market supply and demand of fungicides remains relatively steady, so the market expectation of fungicides is predictable. During the first half of the year, the change range of CAPI of fungicides on the whole is relatively small, falling to between 98.63 and 101.31.

Although the list of the first group of manufacturers which have passed the environmental protection scrutiny on glyphosate was released in June, given the current change of the market situation, it didn't bring too much impact on the market. However, with increasing requirements for environmental protection, the future development of the pesticide industry will be heavily influenced. Excess production capacity will be tightened, and energy conservation and emission reduction and HSE standard production will be realized, which will exert a great impact on the price of the agrochemical products.
