Cobb technical seminars in Philippines attended by over 700 delegates

   

   
   

   
   

In an eight-day seminar marathon, Cobb-Vantress''s world technical support team gave presentations to more than 700 delegates who came from various parts of the Philippines (Manila, Cagayan de Oro and Angeles).

   

   

The delegates were the owners, directors, managers and supervisors, and their customers, of San Miguel Foods, Bounty Fresh Foods, Gama Foods, Phil Malay Poultry Breeding, Cobb-Vantress Philippines and CP Philippines.

   

   

The seminar, organised by the Cobb Asia team, covered all aspects of poultry meat production, aimed to provide practical recommendations to Cobb users to help them realise the genetic potential of the company''s breed.Apart from covering theories and principles, the seminar also included visits to farms to discuss aspects of production on the ground.

   

   

A two-day Cobb Asia Technical Meeting at the end of the second week added up to a full two-week programme for the both the World Technical Support Team and the Cobb Asia Team.

   

   
The Philippines is home to almost 100 million people, with close to one billion broilers raised per year in a market where the Cobb500 breed holds a dominant share.To date, it is one of the few Asian countries to have remained avian influenza-free.According to the USDA, the highest annual volume of broiler meat was exported in 2011- more than 12,000 tonnes to destinations including Japan.
