The 2014 China Feed Industry Expo opened at Shenyang International Exhibition Center on April 19th, 2014. MOA Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen and Chairman of China Feed Industry Association (CFIA) Gao Hongbin attended the opening ceremony and toured the exhibition.

Thanks to 35 years of sound and steady development of its feed industry, China has become the biggest feed producer in the world now. Despite the decline in consumption of animal products, a sharp drop in pig price and outbreaks of H7N9 Influenza, China's feed industry kept the momentum of steady growth in 2013, contributing to ensuring supply and food security.

For years, the Expo has served as an important platform for demonstrating achievements, facilitating experience-sharing and promoting trade.

Covering an area of 50,000 m2, a new high in its history, the Expo attracted nearly 500 domestic and overseas exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions including US, Germany, France and the Netherlands, and over 40,000 visitors.

During the time of the Expo, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and France, French Embassy to China and CFIA co-hosted a press conference and a consultation on nutrient needs of ruminants and feed evaluation.
