Leading professionals exchange conference kicks off in Inner Mongolia

Inner Mongolia autonomous region's "Grassland Talents' Program has cultivated and introduced 712 leading professionals since it was launched in 2010.
Thanks to the program, the region has cultivated 175 innovative teams involving fields of agriculture, energy, new chemicals, equipment manufacturing and non-ferrous metal production as well as 42 leading bases for innovation and business starting, such as Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Zone. Thirteen of the program's talents were chosen for the Recruitment Program of Global Experts (or Thousand Talents Program, which aims to recruit top overseas scientists and talent back to China).
The investment in the program has increased from 35 million yuan ($5.49 million) to 100 million yuan by 2014.
In order to improve the "Grassland Talents' brand and push forward the professionals' development in Hohhot, Baotou, and Ordos, the third Inner Mongolia "Grassland Talents' Cooperation Exchange Conference was held in Hohhot, on Sept 8, in tandem with an innovation and entrepreneurship week in the cities of Baotou, Ordos and Hohhot.
Thirty-nine activities including exhibitions, exchanges, forums and business events were scheduled.
Zhou Chenhu, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Wu Cheng, from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended with 231 other experts.
