Vice Minister Qu Dongyu meets Permanent Secretary of Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with Ms. Jaana Husu-Kallio, Permanent Secretary of Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, in Beijing on August 4, 2015. The two sides exchanges views on further strengthening China-Finland agricultural cooperation.
Vice Minister Qu noted that over recent years, frequent high-level exchange visits between the two ministries have built a good atmosphere for deepening pragmatic cooperation. The two sides have conducted productive collaboration in agricultural S&T, trade and environment protection, among others. He underlined that the creation of the China-Finland agricultural development and innovation cooperation platform is a priority in current cooperation. With the facilitation of the platform, the governments, research institutes and enterprises of both countries are expected to carry out effective cooperation, particularly in the areas of oat, biomass energy and agricultural product quality & safety management.
Ms. Jaana Husu-Kalli fully agreed with Vice Minister Qu on his suggestions. She vowed that the Finnish side is ready to collaborate with China to build up the platform and push forward bilateral agricultural cooperation. She explained the eco-economic policies advocated by the new Finnish administration. The two sides also discussed cooperation between agricultural research institutes, trade development and other issues.
Officials from the Department of International Cooperation, Department of Science, Technology and Education and Bureau of Quality and Safety Supervision for Agro-products of MOA attended the meeting.
