Yemtar: Talking turkey, and now Asia
Ahead of Yemtar''s participation at ILDEX Vietnam, export director Bulent T. Helvacikara speaks to eFeedLink about how the company is bringing its feed machinery turnkey solutions from Turkey to Asia and beyond.
eFeedLink: Share with us a brief history of Yemtar.
Shortly after the company was established in 1980, we made our first machinery exports in 1986. This was followed by our first international turnkey project in 1990. Recognising that the required feed milling quantity has increased and the expected quality of feed has also increased, we succeeded to manufacture higher capacity machinery which also provided better quality feed output. In 2010, we introduced the biggest pellet mill in Turkey, which had a die diameter of 1,200mm and a capacity of 50 tonnes per hour. Another first was the introduction of the gear-driven pellet mill in Turkey in 2015, which had a capacity of 40 tonnes per hour for a 1,000mm die diameter. Currently, we are operating at a 36,000 square metre site in Bandirma, Turkey with about 300 employees.
How areyour feed machinery product offerings different?
We, as Yemtar, are one of the biggest manufacturers in Turkey. As a successful Turkish machinery manufacturer, we have almost same quality with our European competitors, however thanks to our pricing strategy we can offer significantly lower prices. In this sense as the comparison is made with price over quality, we are now one of the best choices in the world market. As we have expertise in turnkey plants, we are also a one-source supplier for feed mill investors.
Tell us more about your market expansion plans.
We export to more than 25 countries located in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia and North and Central Africa. For Southeast Asia, we see exhibitions like VICTAM and ILDEX as important gateways to the region.
What is the maintenance programme that you offer to your customers?
We always emphasise the importance of effective and preventive maintenance. In our homeland, we have a sister company which is specialised in dealing with periodical and preventive maintenance for feed mills. In our international operations we always work with technically capable dealers or agents to serve our clients whenever and wherever they need our assistance.
