One of the organizers of the event, Qu Jia, noted, "This hydroponic method of cultivation uses a solar panel to generate electricity, which causes a nutrient solution to circulate to each plant whenever needed so, as long as there's a bit sunshine, you can grow organic vegetables."

Qu went on to explain that the device is good for people who like to grow vegetables at home without chemical fertilizers and costs 1,000 yuan ($6,100). In addition to the hydroponics exhibition, the horticulture section will have mini-landscapes from across China and elsewhere to delight all visitors and Qu concludes, "We've made an extra effort to bring together different types of gardens, something that is not often done in China."
