Vice Minister Yu Kangzhan meets Mauritanian President, Prime Minister

Vice Minister Yu Kangzhan met Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz and Prime Minister Yahya Ould Hademine respectively on May 26, 2016 during his working visit to Mauritania upon the invitation of the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy of Mauritania. He also chaired the meeting of the bilateral Mixed Committee on Fisheries during his visit. 

 

Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen conveyed the sincere greetings from President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang to Mauritanian President and Prime Minister respectively, and good wishes of the Chinese people to the Mauritanian people. He also, on behalf of the Chinese Government, expressed appreciation to the Mauritanian President and Government for supporting China's positions on the South China Sea issues.Vice Minister Yu stated that the meeting of China-Mauritania Mixed Committee on Fisheries is very successful and the two sides are satisfactory with the bilateral cooperation in fisheries and related fields. Broad consensus has been reached at the meeting with a minutes of the meeting signed at the end. The two sides agreed to hold the next meeting of the Mixed Committee on Fisheries in Beijing next year. 

 

Mauritanian President and Prime Minister extended warm welcome to the Chinese delegation and congratulated on the success of the mixed committee meeting. The Mauritanian leaders reiterated support to China on major international and regional issues, expressing that its position is firm and consistent. Mauritania will further improve its investment environment and welcome more Chinese enterprises to invest and develop there to consolidate the bilateral cooperation and traditional friendship. Chinese Ambassador to Mauritania and commercial counselor also attended the meetings.

 

Vice Minister Yu visited some local infrastructure with the delegation, and was interviewed by Mauritanian TV. The Mauritanian TV and press gave full coverage of the visit.
