Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen had a work meeting with Ms. Nar Devi Pun Magar, Minister of Livestock Development of the Kingdom of Nepal, in Paris on May 23, 2016 on the side events of the 84th General Session of the World Assembly of the World Organization of Animal Health (OIE) Delegates.
The Nepalese Minister expressed her gratitude for China's generous assistance in the earthquake rescue and relief and post-disaster reconstruction in 2015. She hoped that China provide support to Nepal's agricultural and livestock development, particularly in yak breeding, research and manufacturing of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) vaccines and technician training.
Vice Minister Yu noted that the rescue and relief activities brought the two peoples closer and enhanced their bond. The competent agricultural and livestock production departments of both sides have the responsibility and obligation topromote the good-neighborly partnership. China is willing to share its experience in agricultural and livestock development, and conduct cooperation and exchanges in FMD vaccine technology, yak breeding technology and animal farming and veterinary personnel training.
The two sides agreed that this meeting will usher the bilateral livestock and veterinary cooperation into a new era.
