Minister Han Changfu met with Aleksandr Tkachev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, and his delegation in Beijing on May 3, 2016. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening China-Russia agricultural cooperation.
Minister Han pointed out that China and Russia are friendly neighbors. The bilateral agricultural cooperation has witnessed down-to-earth development with fruitful results. To further enhance agricultural cooperation, Minister Han put forward a two-point proposal: first, encourage and support investment cooperation between agribusinesses of both countries, build a favorable environment for enterprises and provide necessary facilitation; second, intensify technical cooperation and information exchange in phytosanitary and animal health and boost agricultural trade. Minister Han sincerely invited Aleksandr Tkachev and his delegation to attend the G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting in Xi'an on June 3, 2016, hoping that Russia would play an active role in the mechanism, and make due contributions to global food and agricultural development.
Aleksandr Tkachev fully agreed with Minister Han on his proposal and expressed his willingness to support China in hosting the G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting and gaining positive outcomes with joint efforts.
Before the conclusion of the meeting, the two ministers witnessed the signing of the China-Russia EPC turn-key project, a full-cycle complex for rabbit meat production with a total annual output of 5000 tons.
