On 20 March, 2015, Monsanto Company (Monsanto) gave an official response to the rating conclusion on glyphosate released by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). It is disclosed that the IARC considered that glyphosate is "probably' carcinogenic to people. However, Monsanto made it plain that it disagrees with IARC's safety classification on glyphosate. Monsanto indicated that all herbicides containing glyphosate in the market should pass the strict examination and assessment of regulators and authoritative health departments. Based on the scientific assessments of authoritative institutions, customers and clients don not need to worry about the glyphosate safety. Due to different opinions, Monsanto acquired the World Health Organization to review the data released by the IARC. In recent years, the safety of glyphosate gradually raises concern in the world. Therefore, CCM hopes that relevant institutions can again ascertain the toxicity of glyphosate. Nevertheless, at present, the glyphosate market is not affected greatly by this case.
