Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with the Namibian delegation on South-South Cooperation (SSC) Capacity Building headed by Ms. Anna Shiweda, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry of the Republic of Namibia, in Beijing on Nov.14, 2016.

The two sides reviewed the traditional friendship established by the former leaders of the two countries. Vice Minister Qu pointed out that recent years have witnessed frequent exchanges of high level visits between China and Namibia, which have helped foster a sound environment for bilateral agricultural cooperation. China takes a positive attitude towards expanding the SSC cooperation. Vice Minister Qu said that it is necessary to summarize and publicize the SSC projects, make the tripartite SSC projects involving China, Namibia and FAO a highlight and model of South-South Cooperation, and actively guide the investments from the business sector for sustainable development.

Ms. Shiweda introduced the exciting achievements of the tripartite cooperation and extended her gratitude to China for its support to the national green development plan of Namibia. Namibia hopes that China continues supporting the SSC projects, expanding the cooperation areas and enhancing the effectiveness.

The two sides also discussed other topics of common interests and reached broad consensus.
