With a placid rivulet meandering through, the eight villages in Chengyang form a picturesque scene with its ancient waterwheels, grand Drum Towers and the Wind and Rain bridges.

Chengyang Eight Enclosed Villages, home to nearly 10,000 Dong people, grew from the natural villages of Ma'an, Yanzhai, Pingzhai, Dazhai, Dongzhai, Jichang, Pingtan, and Pingpu during the Qing Dynasty, and includes well-preserved buildings on stilts, social customs, songs and dances of the Dong ethnic group.

Surrounded by lush green hills and clear water, Chengyang Eight Enclosed Villages enjoy a perfect harmony with nature, along with farmers working, beautiful girls singing and dancing, and ancient waterwheels murmuring throughout history.

Located in Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, Liuzhou, Chengyang Eight Enclosed Villages have grown into a tourism village.
