Minister Han Changfu meets US Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue

Minister Han Changfu met with US Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue in Beijing on June 30, 2017. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening China-US agricultural cooperation.

 

Minister Han noted that China and the US have made progress in cooperation and harvested early fruits of the 100-Day Action Plan, boosting the implementation of the consensus between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. China and the US are major agricultural countries in the world, enjoying wide-ranging common interests and broad prospects for cooperation. China is willing to work with the US, on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, to improve the bilateral cooperation mechanisms and elevate the cooperation to a new height.

 

On behalf of the Trump Administration, Secretary Perdue thanked China for its endeavor in promoting the bilateral agricultural cooperation. He fully agreed with Minister Han and expressed his willingness to work with China to further China-US agricultural cooperation towards mutual benefit and win-win outcome.

 

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu and the newly-appointed US Ambassador to China Terry Branstad also attended the meeting.
