Bottom-Up Research
The bottom-up research conducted by CCM primarily focuses on factors affecting individual companies. Analysis is done on information such as the company's products, supply, demand, competitive position, financial status and other aspects of a company's performance over a given period of time. This leads to an estimate of the company's earnings potential, and ultimately its value in the market. The emphasis in this approach is on finding companies with good long-term growth prospects, and making accurate earnings estimates.
Apart from the study on a given company, the bottom-up research can be also used to understand a microscopic situation of an industry from the industry’s various performances. Over the past years, CCM has adopted the research approach to analyze the demand/consumption situation of a specific industry.
